Race Report

RACE-2 THE PAEROA RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (56)
3 Will Go On (M Cangas) –Prior to “Correct weight” the Stewards viewed the official patrol film to ascertain whether the gelding had been afforded the opportunity to jump with the field. It was established that as the start was effected 3 Will Go On refused to jump and took no part in the event. Trainer K Seo was advised that after taking into consideration the poor barrier history of the gelding, it will not be permitted to race until it has performed satisfactorily to the satisfaction of the Stewards in two official barrier trials.
5 Luen Yat Sure Win (W L Ho) – At the turn near the 1200 metres was steadied and lost ground when racing tight to the inside of 2 So Sweet. Approaching the 400 metres was held up. Performed below market expectations. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Steward failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Crowning Mission (K H Yu) –Rider K H Yu could offer no real excuses for the disappointing performance of the gelding today. A post race veterinary examination ordered by the Stewards failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Mission Fame (C F Wong) –Raced three wide without cover throughout. Rider C F Wong explained that he had to use the gelding up in the early stages to obtain a forward position and for this reason it was unable to finish off the event.
11 Gem Fighter (L Corrales) – Over raced in the early and middle stages. For some distance approaching and passing the 400 metres was held up when unable to improve its position. Cast its right front plate during the run.
12 Modena World (R Stewart) –For a short distance approaching the 400 metes was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.
