Race Report

RACE-4 THE DARLINGTON RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1050 METRES (94)

4 I'm Sincere (R Curatolo) –Trainer C Marshall was advised that 4 I'm Sincere will not be permitted to race again for 11 days and until it passed a barrier trial the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
5 Wan Shi Sheng Yi (K K Lai) –Dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers. As rider K K Lai was injured and unable to ride. 5 Wan Shi Sheng was a late withdrawal by order of the Stewards at 9:38pm. Jockey K K Lai explained to the Steward that the gelding bolted when he mounted despite the efforts of the Clerk of Course to assist. As 5 Wan Shi Sheng Yi has displayed unruly pre race behavior recently, Trainer K M Chin was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it trials to the satisfaction of the Stewards in official barrier trial, at which time it must proceed to the barrier without incidents. Jockey K K Lai was subsequently stood down from his remaining engagement by the Club’s Doctor. He must produce a medical clearance prior to riding again.
9 Glory Moment (C F Chan) –Over raced in the early and middle stages. Passing the 800 metres shifted out before being steadied when tightened for room between 8 Lucky And Healthy (C Perkins) and 3 Vancouver Jaguar (W L Ho) which shifted out before being straighten by its rider. Laid out from the 600 metres until the top of the straight.
10 Great River (J Cordero) –Jumped away awkward and was inconvenienced by 8 Lucky And Healthy (C Perkins) which shifted in.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to correct weight, the Stewards viewed the head on vision of the start to ascertain if 4 I'm Sincere (R Curatolo) had been afforded a fair start. It was established that 4 I'm Sincere was restless in its barrier stall and was being assist by a barrier attendant. As the gates were released the gelding which had been standing awkwardly then threw its head before rearing high in the stall losing considerable ground. As the Stewards believed the incident was entirely due to the barrier manners of 4 I'm Sincere the gelding was deemed a runner and correct weight was declared.
