RACE-3 THE RIO DE JANEIRO RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1050 METRES (159)

2 Great Idea (W H Lao) –Was slow to begin.
4 Great Party (W L Ho) –Shortly after the start was tightened for room between 6 River Colour which shifted in and 11 Hostwin Helios which was taken out by 7 Bunce. Shortly after this 11 Hostwin Helios continued to shift out slightly resulting in 4 Great Party having to be checked over that gelding’s heels when taken in by 6 River Colour which was racing tight to the inside of 8 Happiness In Peace which became unbalanced after being brushed by 9 Show Smart.
6 River Colour (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room between 4 Great Party and 8 Happiness In Peace and as a result lost ground. Disappointing performance. Rider explained that his mount hung out throughout the race, was not responding to his riding and for this reason he then eased it down in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning had been placed on the gelding for its racing manners and should it perform in a similar manner in future, further action may be taken.
8 Happiness In Peace (M Cangas) –On jumping away shifted out and bumped 9 Show Smart.
9 Show Smart (W T Pao) –Caught wide throughout
