Race Report

RACE-2 THE CONTINUED SUCCESS RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1000 METRES (278)
Owing to heavy rain associated with a thunder storm, the race was delayed to start at 2:45pm. Due to continued thunder storm activity, the event was further delayed to start at 3:35pm.

2 Full Of Luck (A Calder) – Shifted in after jumping away and made contact with 9 Iron Alloy resulting in its hindquarters being turned and the gelding becoming unbalanced. Near the 150 metres was steadied and taken out of its course by 1 Wan Shi Sheng Yi which shifted out. Jockey R Curatolo the rider of 1 Wan Shi Sheng Yi was advised that he must exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
3 Great Tiger (L Corrales) –On jumping away was tightened for room between 11 Chilli Boy and 6 Explosive Blast which shifted in. Near the 600 metres as steadied when disappointed for a run between 5 China Cheers and 10 Power Savabeel.
4 Tony Itoldyouso (L Salles) –Was resaddled at the barriers.
8 Great River (K W Leong) –Bounded in the air when the gates were released and lost ground.
9 Iron Alloy (H Lam) –Race wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, an unplaced favourite failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
10 Power Savabeel (M Cangas) –Near the 700 was steadied when racing tight between 11 Chilli Boy which shifted out and 7 Golden Kalbar which shifted in.
11 Chilli Boy (Y M Choi) – The Stewards questioned as to why he failed to maintain his position on the rail which allowed 5 China Cheers the eventual winner to improve into a run to his inside at the rounding the home turn. Rider Y M Choi explained that his mount commenced to hang out from the 600 metres and despite his efforts he was unable to stay closer to the rails.
