Race Report

RACE-4 THE CATTERICK RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1100 METRES (317)

1 Not A Single Help (A Aucharuz) –Jumped away very awkwardly unbalancing its rider and as a result lost ground. During this incident struck his rider’s head placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Jockey A Aucharuz was questioned as to why he allowed his mount to shift out in the straight to a very wide position. He explained that at the entrance into the straight when he attempted to shift to the outside of 7 Great Party to obtain a run, that gelding shifted out and took him wider than he had anticipated. He added that his mount then had a tendency to lay out in the straight resulting in him having to stop riding and straighten near the 100 metres. 1 Not A Single Help then laid inwards and he was again obliged to stop riding and straighten at the 50 metres. Jockey A Aucharuz was reminded that as a rider of his experience, he would be expected to display far more control over his mounts than he did on this occasion.
2 Bo Bo So Great (W Smith) –Disappointing performance. Rider reported that his mount was having its first run since 20th February 2016 and in his opinion will benefit from today’s run. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 River Colour (L Corrales) –Was held up for some distance approaching and passing the 400 metres.
7 Great Party (W H Lao) – Rider explained to the Stewards that it had not been his intentions to race so wide in the straight, however his mount did drift out under pressure. He was advised that he would be expected to show more initiative and control over his mounts in similar circumstances in future.
8 Golden Bullet (K H Yu) –Raced three wide without cover throughout.
9 River God Choi (K W Leong) –Was taken very wide rounding the home turn by 1 Not A Single Help. Dipped after passing the 400 metres.
10 China Cheers (W L Ho) –Was very slow to begin (2L). Trainer Pat Lee was notified that a warning was being placed against gelding and should it perform in a similar manner further action could be taken.
