Race Report

RACE-6 THE BEVERLEY RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (319)

1 Let Me Run (K K Lai) –Was examined at the request of its rider behind the barriers and passed fit to run.
3 Magician Code (A Calder) –Was marginally slow to begin.
4 River Treasure (L Corrales) –Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated due to the pace of the runners to his inside in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken from the gelding for analysis.
6 Dr Definitely (B Yamzon) – Resaddled behind the barriers. After jumping away very awkwardly, shifted in abruptly unbalancing its rider. Raced very erratically in the back straight. Trainer P Leyshan was informed that a warning had been placed on the gelding for its racing manners and should it perform in a similar manner in future, further action may be taken.
10 Gauteng (K W Leong) -Over raced in the early and middle stages. Had to be checked near the 1100 metres when tightened momentarily by 6 Dr Definitely (B Yamzon) which, when racing extremely ungenerously, shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, B Yamzon after clipping heels of runners in front. As the Stewards deemed the incident to be attributable to the racing manners of 6 Dr Definitely no further action was taken.
