Race Report

RACE-3 THE LINGFIELD (SAND) RATING 95-70 (CLASS 1&2) 1050 METRES (382)

2 Sweet Korean (R Curatolo) –Bounded in the air when the gates were released. Commenced to over race and hang out in the back straight. Near the 500 metres had to restrained when awkwardly placed close to heels.
5 Vigor Partner –Raced keenly through the middle stages.
6 Advance Mission (W Smith) –Was marginally slow to begin was then brushed by 2 Sweet Korean. Was held up for some considerable distance rounding the home turn.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey K H Yu the rider of 9 Brave Flying Hawk pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of MJC Rule 132 (i) in that after passing the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when riding it along resulting in 6 Advance Mission (W Smith) losing its rightful running and having to be checked. Jockey Yu’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two racemeetings, to be served as the first two meetings of the new Racing Season. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his good record, his plea and the degree of carelessness and the severity of the interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
