Race Report

RACE-4 THE MACAU RACE HORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION BOWL RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1100 METRES (395)

1 Rayden (W H Lao) –Raced four wide without cover
4 Sparta (L Salles) –Was held up at the latter part of the home turn before being shifted outward and obtaining clear running.
5 Feast For Eyes (L Corrales) –Raced keenly through the middle stages. When questioned as to why the eventual winner 4 Sparta obtained a run to his inside shortly after straightening, Jockey L Corrales explained that he had attempted to keep 4 Sparta in a pocket behind 3 Happy Bunny however that gelding was travelling better than his mount and when it was shifted out in an attempt to obtain a run, he was unable to hold it in that pocket despite his efforts.
6 Tuhao Power (B Yamzon) –Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
7 Achilles Sword (A Aucharuz) –Was slow into stride. Jockey A Aucharuz was reprimanded for the manner in which he allowed his mount to shift round in the straight.
8 Chok King (R Curatolo) –Was slow to begin. Raced very wide without cover for the majority of the event. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported in his opinion his mount is better suited to races of a lower class. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 My Pony (K K Lai) –Trainer K S Wong was informed that the gelding which was found to be severely lame right foreleg will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produce and it has passed a Barrier Trial.
10 Capital Protector (W Smith) –Raced three wide without cover.
11 Double Heaven (A Calder) –Was slow to begin.
