Race Report

RACE-6 THE MACAU RACE HORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION CUP RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1400 METRES (397)

2 The Alfonso (L Corrales) – Jockey L Corrales was issued with a fine of HK$1000 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the post.
4 Master Of Puppets (M Cangas) –Raced very keenly in the back straight. Near the 300 metres shifted in slightly and brushed 8 Perfect Alloy which shifted out. Was then taken out by 8 Perfect Alloy which continued to shift out. Jockey H Lam was reprimanded and advised that he must exercise far more care in similar circumstances in future.
5 Healthy Life (K K Lai) –Was slow into stride.
6 Lucky And Wealthy (W Smith) –Raced three wide without cover before obtaining a position closer to the rails near the 500 metres.
7 Golden Double (W H Lao) –Approaching the 1200 metres shifted in slightly and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 2 The Alfonso.
11 Chairman’s Vote (C F Chan) –Poor performance. Rider reported his mount would be better suited to races over a lower class. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Pacers Bahhare (B Yamzon) –Rider explained that his mount travelled well until the 600 metres however from that point dipped on a number of occasions and was uncomfortable in the going. For this reason he was unable to ride his mount out in his usual manner.
