Race Report

RACE-1 THE SUNFLOWER RATING SPECIAL (SPECIAL) 1200 METRES (13)
The Stewards gave permission for Jockey Y M Choi to ride 9 Chilli Boy at 115lbs. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey Y M Choi was issued with a severe reprimand for failing to claim his full allowance under MJC Rule 64 (ii). In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Choi’s very good record, in that he had never been charged for a breach of this rule in his career.

3 Florence Elite (L Salles) –When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 800 metres, raced keenly and was inconvenienced for short distance.
5 Four Season Health (H Lam) –Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer K S Cheong was informed that a warning had been placed on 5 Four Season Health. Over raced during the early stages. When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 800 metres, raced keenly and was inconvenienced for short distance. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
8 Auspicious Dragon (L Corrales) –When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 800 metres, raced keenly and was inconvenienced for short distance.
10 Big Fortress (K W Leong) –When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 800 metres, raced keenly for a short distance. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rounding the home turn was steadied momentarily when tightened for room between 5 Four Season Health and 9 Chilli Boy which shifted out to improve. Jockey Y M Choi the rider of 9 Chilli Boy was issued with a reprimand and advised that he must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.
11 Accelera (A Calder) –When the pace of the race steadied approaching the 800 metres, raced keenly and was inconvenienced for short distance.
