Race Report

RACE-4 THE KWEICHOW RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1100 METRES (46)

2 Lobor Treasure (L Salles) –Performed below market expectations. Rider reported that from the wide draw he had to make use of the gelding in the early stages to obtain the lead position and in his opinion this early effort contributed to 2 Lobor Treasure tiring over the final 150 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 River God Choi (K W Leong) –Was slow to begin.
5 Ideal Horse (A Aucharuz) – Near the 700 metres hung out and was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 The Mighty. Rider reported that upon entering the home straight his mount blundered and he had immediate concerns with his mount’s action. He added in light of this, he elected to ease his mount out of the race at the 250 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer M C Tam was informed that he would be required to present 5 Ideal Horse to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 30th October 2016 and in addition it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
6 Borrett Boy (B Yamzon) – Leaving the 100 metres was checked off the heels of 12 Golden Kalbar which shifted out and away from 11 Full Class which hung out under pressure. After considering all the circumstances in particular the racing manners of 11 Full Class at the point of the incident, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Jockeys K K Lai and Y M Choi to exercise the utmost care in similar circumstances in future.
10 Modena Favorite (W Smith) –Jumped awkwardly. Leaving the 500 metres commenced to hang out and was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 The Mighty. Thereafter commenced to hang out until entering the home straight.
11 Full Class (Y M Choi) –Hung out leaving the 400 metres and continued to hang out in the home straight, resulting in Jockey Y M Choi being unable to fully test his mount. Trainer S Chow was advised that a warning had been placed against the gelding for its racing manners.
