Race Report

RACE-5 THE HUNAN RATING 100-70 (CLASS 1&2) 1100 METRES (47)

2 Yanson (C Perkins) – Near the 800 metres was steadied and lost ground when tightened for room between 4 Sparta and 7 Bingo Champion which when over racing shifted out slightly. 8 Oh So Easy which was following was checked in consequence. After considering all the evidence, the Stewards could not attribute blame to anyone rider and no further action was taken. Was checked near the 600 metres. Near the 250 metres was steadied when tightened for room between 5 Lucky And Wealthy and 8 Oh So Easy which shifted out to improve. Jockey A Aucharuz the rider of 8 Oh So Easy was issued with a severe reprimand and was reminded of his obligations to be sufficiently clear of runners before shifting ground in future.
3 Bobo So Cute (W Smith) –Jumped awkwardly.
5 Lucky And Wealthy (B Yamzon) –Raced wide rounding the home turn.
6 Allez Eagle (A Calder) –Approaching the 600 metres was checked.
7 Bingo Champion (L Corrales) – Near the 600 metres made contact with the running rail, was checked and lost significant ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Oh So Easy (A Aucharuz) –Checked near the 800 metres. Leaving the 100 metres was momentarily inconvenienced by 5 Lucky And Wealthy which shifted in slightly. Was then unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages when it continued to race close to the heels of 5 Lucky And Wealthy.
9 Speed On (M Cangas) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
11 Happy Bunny (K H Yu) –Jumped awkwardly and shifted out hampering 12 Innoalloy.
12 Innoalloy (H Lam) –Was hampered on jumping away.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident near the 600 metres where 7 Bingo Champion made contact with the running rail, was checked and lost significant ground. In this incident 6 Allez Eagle which was following had to be checked and shifted out resulting in 2 Yanson also having to be checked and forced wider on the track. After taking evidence from Jockeys L Corrales the rider of 7 Bingo Champion, A Calder the rider of 6 Allez Eagle and L Salles the rider of 4 Sparta and after viewing all the available official footage, the Stewards could not establish the degree of any shift from 4 Sparta at the point of the incident and as such did not have sufficient evidence to lay a charge of careless riding. As such no further action was taken, however all riders were advised to exercise the utmost care in similar circumstances in future.
