Race Report

RACE-3 NEW ZEALAND BLOODSTOCK READY TO RUN SALE TROPHY RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1100 METRES (63)

1 Baby Horse (H Lam) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
3 Galaxy Supreme (A Aucharuz) –Leaving the 800 metres when inclined to lay out was buffeted between 5 Go Go Partners and 11 God Get People for a short distance. Rider reported that his mount never travelled comfortably and was disappointing in the run to the finish line.
A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 River Sandtop (K H Yu) –Over raced in the middle stages. On entering the home straight was held up when disappointed for a run between 9 Who's My Fan and 5 Go Go Partners. Was again disappointed for a run between 9 Who’s My Fan and 5 Go Go Partners near the 300 metres. Near the 50 metres was brushed by 9 Who's My Fan which was inclined to shift in under pressure.
5 Go Go Partners (W L Ho) –Bumped by 3 Galaxy Supreme shortly after the start.
6 Lucky Rose (Y M Choi) - The Stewards questioned Y M Choi in regards to his riding of the gelding in the home straight, of particular concerns to the Stewards was his lack of vigour. Jockey Y M Choi stated that he had commenced to place his mount under pressure form the 600 metres, however the gelding began to make some abnormal respiratory noises. As a result of this he was reluctant to place his mount under full pressure in the home straight as he had serious concerns that his mount may have a significant veterinary problem. The Stewards noted his explanation. Trainer K M Chin was informed to present 6 Lucky Rose to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination and including an endoscopic examination on Monday, 14th November 2016.
7 Luen On Treasure (A Calder) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
8 Power Battery (C F Chan) –Jumped awkwardly.
11 God Get People (R Curatolo) –Near the 800 metres raced ungenerously for a short distance. Was held up in the home straight when unable to improve until near the 200 metres. Jockey R Curatolo was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the finish of the race.
12 Rio Party (W Smith) –Was marginally slow to begin.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey K H Yu the rider 4 River Sandtop, placed 2nd by the Judge against 5 Go Go Partners (W L Ho) begin declared the winner alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from both jockeys K H Yu and W L Ho, and after reviewing the official patrol films, it was established that on entering the home straight 4 River Sandtop was disappointed for a run between 9 Who’s My Fan and 5 Go Go Partners and had to be steadied. It was further established that 4 River Sandtop was again disappointed for a run between 9 Who’s My Fan and 5 Go Go Partners near the 300 metres. As the Stewards were of the opinion that 4 River Sandtop had never established a clear run between 9 Who’s My Fan and 5 Go Go Partners, the Stewards could not attribute blame to Jockey W L Ho the rider of 5 Go Go Partners and as such the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared.
