Race Report

RACE-3 THE LEEDS RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1100 METRES (87)

1 Luenya Elegant (Y M Choi) –Was slow to begin. Checked near the 800 metres.
3 Lucky Rose (L Salles) –Was slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination revealed that 3 Lucky Rose had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer K M Chin was reminded that the standard stand down periods and actions apply before eligible to race again.
4 Modena Favorite (W Smith)-Raced wide without cover throughout.
5 Desi Star( M Cangas) –Approaching the 800 metres bumped with 10 Golden Kalbar on two occasions and became unbalanced.
6 My Cup Of Tea (B Yamzon) –Acting on veterinary advice that it was lame in the right foreleg, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3:10pm. Trainer K H Leong was informed 6 My Cup Of Tea will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
7 Full Class (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that 7 Full Class had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer S Chow was reminded that the standard stand down periods and actions apply before eligible to race again.
8 Tous Sweet (M Wepner) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
10 Golden Kalbar (W L Ho) –Near the 800 metres checked when tightened for room and lost ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 800 metres where 10 Golden Kalbar (W L Ho) was tightened for room and had to be checked. After taking evidence from Jockeys W L Ho the rider of 10 Golden Kalbar, M Cangas the rider of 5 Desi Star, A Aucharuz the rider of 12 Magic Miles and M Wepner the rider of 8 Tous Sweet and reviewing the official patrol films, it was established that approaching the 800 metres 5 Desi Star which was momentarily tightened for room by 12 Magic Miles shifted in and made contact with 10 Golden Kalbar resulting in the hindquarter’s of 5 Desi Star being turned out. 5 Desi Star then continued to shift in further tightening the running of 10 Golden Kalbar which had to be checked and lost its position. In this incident 1 Luenya Elegant (Y M Choi) which was following was checked in consequence and shifted out abruptly tightening 9 Charming Beijing (R Maia) which had to be steadied. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards could not attribute blame to anyone rider and no further action was taken other than to remind all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
