Race Report

RACE-6 THE SHIJIAZHUANG RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1200 METRES (182)

3 Captain Genuki (B Yamzon) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
5 Win Perfectly (K K Lai) – Prior to the race Trainer J M Moore informed the Stewards that he had instructed the rider to try and lead on the gelding tonight should circumstances permit. Near the 1100 metres was steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 4 Full Of Luck which shifted in slightly. Was inclined to lay in in the early stages of the home straight.
6 Great River (K H Yu) –Jumped awkwardly. Checked near the 800 metres. Near the 100 metres was brushed by 4 Full Of Luck which shifted in slightly.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason 6 Great River had to be checked on the point of the turn leaving the 800 metres. After taking evidence from Jockeys K H Yu the rider of 6 Great River, W L Ho the rider of 1 Turquoise Lucky and B Yamzon the rider of 3 Captain Genuki, it was established that at that point 6 Great River had to be checked off the heels of 1 Turquoise Lucky which shifted in and away from 3 Captain Genuki which hung in on the point of the turn despite the efforts of its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey B Yamzon had taken sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting in at that point and as such no further action was taken, other than to advise all riders to exercise more care.
