RACE-2 THE SHEK O RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1510 METRES (256)
2 Lucky And Powerful (R Curatolo) –Performed below market expectations. The Stewards questioned Jockey R Curatolo and Trainer J M Moore regarding the performance of 2 Lucky And Powerful. Jockey R Curatolo explained that he had placed his mount under pressure early to go forward as instructed. He added it was his intention to try and obtain a clear lead in the back straight as per past occasions but he was unable to so. He said arriving at the 600 metres he placed the gelding under pressure again but it failed to respond as expected and was disappointing in the straight. Trainer Moore concurred with Jockey R Curatolo’s explanation and was disappointed with the performance of 2 Lucky And Powerful today. The Stewards informed Trainer J M Moore to report to them should he become aware of anything post race that may have affected the gelding’s performance today. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Victory Achiever (W L Ho) –Was slow into stride.
8 Charity Group (A Aucharuz) –Just prior to the start turned its head to the inside of the barrier. The rider managed to correct his mount just as the start was effected. Was slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer M C Tam was informed that the gelding will be not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produce.
