RACE-2 GRAND LISBOA PALACE CUP (LISTED RACE) OPEN 1800 METRES (262)

2 Yang Jiang Star (K H Yu)- Was slow to begin.
3 King Creole (A Calder)- Was slow into stride.
10 My Fortune Star (A Aucharuz)- Approximately 1100 metres was taken wide on the track by 12 Power Battery which hung out. When questioned regarding 10 My Fortune Star’s poor performance today, Jockey A Aucharuz said that the gelding jumped out and travelled well until approximately the 1200 metres where it began to lose ground, and when he placed the gelding under pressure, it failed to respond and continued to lose ground. He said he was disappointed and could not offer any real reason for the gelding’s poor performance today. Trainer K M Chin was questioned for the poor performance today. Trainer K M Chin said the gelding was restless in the stall when being saddled for the race today, and he agreed the horse did not perform to his expectations however he could offer no real explanation for the poor performance today. Trainer K M Chin was advised that if he became aware of anything that could have affected the horse’s performance today he must report this to the Stewards. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Power Battery (M Cangas)- Approximately the 1400 metres stuck the running rail, approximately the 1100 metres turn hung out taking 10 My Fortune Star wide on track. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
14 Lucky And Fortune(M Wepner) – Steadied when crowded for room.

RACING INCIDENT:
When passing the winning post on the first occasion 14 Lucky And Fortune steadied when crowded by 12 Power Battery which was taken in by 9 Paulson. Jockey W L Ho, the rider of 9 Paulson was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in taking 12 Power Battery in onto 14 Lucky And Fortune which was crowded for room and was steadied. Jockey W L Ho was told that a repetition may lead to a more severe penalty in future.
