Race Report

RACE-1 THE SUPER RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1500 METRES (333)

1 Concentration (E Trujillo) –At the 1400 metres shifted in taking 5 Smart Ebony inwards resulting in 9 Windsor Arch being checked. Stewards inquiry.
2 So Happy (M Cangas) – Over the final 200 metres hung in.
When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of 2 So Happy, Trainer K S Wong explained that 2 So Happy races best on firm tracks and its recent starts have been on rain affected track. The Stewards noted his explanation.
6 Hey Hey Companion (M Wepner) –Was slow to begin.
11 Simple Mind (L Corrales) –Showed no early speed.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into a racing incident at the 1400 metres where 9 Windsor Arch (A Aucharuz) had to be checked. Evidence was taken from Jockeys W L Ho the rider 5 Smart Ebony, E Trujillo the rider of 1 Concentration and A Aucharuz the rider of 9 Windsor Arch. Jockey E Trujillo the rider of 1 Concentration was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of MJC Rule 132 (i) in that he permitted to his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear taking 5 Smart Ebony inwards resulting in 9 Windsor Arch being checked. Jockey E Trujillo’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 racemeeting to cover the racemeeting of 13th August 2017. In arriving at this decision, the Stewards took into all mitigation factors and his good record. He was advised of his right of appeal.
