RACE-7 THE CURRAGH RATING 70-40 (CLASS 2&3) 1800 METRES (7)
2 Fifty Flags (R Maia) -A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. When questioned Trainer W T Lai informed the Stewards that he was disappointed with the gelding’s performance in the straight today as it had failed to run on. The Stewards informed Mr. Lai that he would be required to present 2 Fifty Flags to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 24th September 2017. In addition, Trainer W T Lai was informed that a warning had been placed on the gelding for its poor performance and a repetition may lead to further action being taken in future.
5 The Moon's Back (A Calder) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Poker King (M Wepner) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer J M Moore was informed that he would be required to present 6 Poker King to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 24th September 2017 and in addition due to its unsatisfactory performance today, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
7 Basement (C F Chan) -Made the 1400 metres crossing awkwardly.
9 Wyoming (Y M Choi) - Was slow to begin.
11 One From Many (W Smith) -Was restless in the barriers, reared as the start was effected and was then slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Flying Team (M Cangas) -The Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5:15pm as there was no suitable rider to replace Jockey M Cangas who has been stood down by the Club’s Medical Officer following his engagement in Race 6 as he was suffering from gastritis.
13 Macau Moonlight (H Lam) -Was slow to begin. Blundered approaching the winning post on the first occasion.
14 Windsor Arch Three (A Aucharuz) -The Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5:15pm as there was no suitable rider to replace Jockey A Aucharuz.
