Race Report

RACE-4 THE BLACKPOOL RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1200 METRES (80)

1 Stallion Elite (K K Lai) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. The Stewards questioned Assistant Trainer W K Lam who was representing Trainer K M Chin as he was ill and Jockey K K Lai regarding the running of 1 Stallion Elite. Mr. W K Lam
stated that because of the expected fast pace today and from the wide barrier 12, they elected to instruct Jockey K K Lai to get a good jump and try to settle middle and save as much ground as possible. Jockey K K Lai confirmed the instructions and said that he got a good jump but from barrier 12, he took hold of his mount and elected to cross to the rail behind the field to follow his instructions. The Stewards noted their explanations, however the Stewards informed Jockey K K Lai that they were of the opinion that in the early stages he would been better served to maintain his position and wait for the race to pan out before electing to go to the fence and being in last position.
4 Chromium Alloy (B Yamzon) -Hung out on the 700 metre turn. Hung out rounding the home turn and took 10 Contented N Happy wide on the track. The Stewards spoke to both riders B Yamzon the rider of 4 Chromium Alloy and A Aucharuz the rider of 10 Contented N Happy and informed both riders that their efforts on this occasion were poor and that they would be expected to make a much greater effort to save ground whenever possible in future.
5 Winter Snow (A Calder) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Wealthy East (L Corrales) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Contented N Happy (A Aucharuz) -Was taken wide on the track by 4 Chromium Alloy rounding the home turn.
