RACE-1 THE SWANSEA RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1200 METRES (84)

1 Broadus (B Yamzon) - At the 150 metres bumped by 4 Techfaith Warrior.
2 Dream Fun (J Pescuiso) - Jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped 4 Techfaith Warrior.
3 Military Star (R Maia) -Was bumped by 14 Auspicious Dragon at the start.
4 Techfaith Warrior (K H Yu) - Was bumped by 2 Dream Fun at the start. At the150 metres rolled out and bumped 1 Broadus.
5 Beautiful Illusion (Y M Choi) -Slow into stride. At the 50 metres shifted in and took 10 Wealthy Treasure in onto 9 Galaxy Supreme which blundered severely.
9 Galaxy Supreme (M Wepner) - Near the finish blundered when 5 Beautiful Illusion shifted in. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Wealthy Treasure (M Belli) - At the 50 metres was taken in by 5 Beautiful Illusion.
12 Smart Ebony (A Aucharuz) - At the 700 metres turn broke down and failed to finish the race.
13 Capital Whirlwind (W Smith) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
14 Auspicious Dragon (K K Lai) - Jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped 3 Military Star.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident at the 50 metres 5 Beautiful Illusion shifting in and took 10 Wealthy Treasure in onto 9 Galaxy Supreme which blundered severely. Jockey Y M Choi the rider of 5 Beautiful Illusion pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that he allowed his mount to shift in under pressure taking 10 Wealthy Treasure inwards and causing 9 Galaxy Supreme to clip the heels of 10 Wealthy Treasure and severely blundered. Jockey Y M Choi’s licence to ride in races was suspended for period of 1 racemeeting covering the meeting of 12th January 2018 and was fined the sum of HK$7,000. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
