RACE-3 THE NORTHAMPTON RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (86)

2 Fontainebleau (K H Yu) - At the 50 metres rolled out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Beautiful Creative (B Yamzon) - At the 700 metres turn steadied off 9 Poker King and rolled in. At the 500 metres steadied off 9 Poker King.
5 Best Time (M Wepner) - Rolled out at the 50 metres.
6 Hopefully Tomorrow (Y M Choi) - At the 50 metres was disappointed for a run between 5 Best Time and 2 Fontainebleau. Jockey Y M Choi injured at the finish, was checked by the Clinic doctor passed fit to ride.
7 Stadium (L Corrales) - At the 700 metres was checked. At the 250 metres shifted out and 4 Beautiful Creative steadied. Jockey L Corrales was reprimand and was told that need to be more care in the future when shifting ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Gem Steed (Apprentice K Leung) - Poor performance. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong is required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 31st December 2017. In addition 8 Gem Steed will not be permitted to race for 11 days until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
9 Poker King (Apprentice S Meneanen) - At the 700 metres was taken in by 12 Winner Fortune causing Apprentice S Meneanen to loose his left stirup iron and at the 50 metres dislodged Apprentice S Meneanen. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Happy Encore (H Lam) - At the 500 metres had to steady off 9 Poker King.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the incident at the 700 metres turn 12 Winner Fortune shifted in. Jockey R Maia the rider of 12 Winner Fortune pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that he allowed his mount 12 Winner Fortune to shift in and taking 9 Poker King in causing severely crowding to 7 Stadium and being checked and loose ground and. Jockey R Maia was fined the sum of HK$12,000. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his good record, his guilty plea and the severity of the interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
