Race Report

RACE-7 THE MALTON RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (102)

After running of Race 7, Stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey M Wepner (1 More Than Happy) (3rd placed runner) alleging interference shortly after entering the home straight against the winner 12 Benevolent Friend, ridden by Jockey A Aucharuz. As the Stewards were unable to be satisfied that 1 More Than Happy had establish a clear run between 10 Starkiller (R Maia) and 12 Benevolent Friend, the Stewards dismissed the objection and placings stand and correct weight was declared.

1 More Than Happy (M Wepner) -At the 300 metres when attempting a marginal run between 10 Starkiller and 12 Benevolent Friend, 1 More Than Happy and 12 Benevolent Friend bumped. 1 More Than Happy clipped the heels of 12 Benevolent Friend blundered severely and almost fell and lost ground.
3 Chinese Dream (M Nunes) -At the 1200 metres rolled out and bumped 9 Eclair Journey. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Winbeauty Infiniti (Apprentice K Leung) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Ashkari (W L Ho) -Was slow to begin.
6 Baby Horse (H Lam) -Trainer C F Chan was fined the sum of HK$1000 under MJC Rule 14(xvii)(a) negligence in that he presented his horse to race in Race 7 without an approved gear, blinkers.
8 Autumn Cloud (K H Yu) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Eclair Journey (L Corrales) -At the 1200 metres was bumped by 3 Chinese Dream and continued to hang out until 1000 metres.
11 Capital Protector (J Pescuiso) -Was slow to begin.
12 Benevolent Friend (A Aucharuz) -At the 300 metres bumped 1 More Than Happy.
