Race Report

RACE-5 THE BANGALORE RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1050 METRES (188)

4 Evergreen Star (W L Ho) -Was restless in the barriers and laid on the right side of the barriers as the start was effected and was then slow into stride. At the 200 metres rolled out under pressure with 5 Fasuba shy out and away from the gelding.
5 Fasuba (M Wepner) - Was restless in the barriers and as the start was effected bounded in the air and was then slow into stride. At the 200 metres shied out and away from 4 Evergreen Star and as a result 6 Invincible which was following shifted out to avoid its heels. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Invincible (H Lam) - At the 200 metres was shifted out to avoid the heels of 5 Fasuba. Cast its right fore plate during the run.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
“Correct Weight” was delayed when Jockey W L Ho the rider of 4 Evergreen Star sought permission from the Stewards to review the video of the start as he explained that he was not ready when the start was effected. After reviewing the patrol video of the start and considering the evidence, it was established that as the start was effected 4 Evergreen Star which was restless in the barriers laid against the right hand side of its barrier and was then slow into stride. As the Stewards were of the opinion that 4 Evergreen Star was afforded a fair start, therefore correct weight was declared.
