Race Report

RACE-2 THE COCHIN RATING 70-40 (CLASS 2&3) 1800 METRES (191)

1 State Source Star (L Corrales) -At the 1500 metre turn rolled out and brushed 9 Double Hill Spirit which in turn brushed 10 River Colour. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Was beaten in excess of 32 lengths. Trainer J M Moore was informed he will be required to present 1 State Source Star to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 21 April 2018 and that a warning had been placed on the gelding for not being competitive.
2 Autumn Cloud (F Henrique) -Was slow into stride. At the 1200 metre turn threw its head and raced greenly to until approximately the 900 metres.
3 The Moon's Back (R Maia) -At the 80 metres was bumped by 5 Spring Thunder.
4 Prehistoric Power (M Wepner) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer K C Chong was informed that 4 Prehistoric Power will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
5 Spring Thunder (H Lam) -At the 80 metres shifted out and bumped 3 The Moon's Back. The Stewards questioned Jockey H Lam regarding him not taking a run directly in front of him in the straight. He said that he was instructed by the trainer to make his run to the outside of the field as 5 Spring Thunder did not appreciate racing between runners. The Stewards noted his explanation.
6 Delighted Solution (O Chavez) -Was slow into stride. At the 300 metres shifted in and took 7 Benson inwards. When questioned Jockey O Chavez said that 6 Delighted Solution was on its wrong leg and took him a number of strides to have his mount change lead legs and straighten up.
7 Benson (W L Ho) -At the 300 metres was taken in by 6 Delighted Solution.
8 Vancouver Jaguar (B Yamzon) -Was slow into stride.
9 Double Hill Spirit (Apprentice C L Cheung) -At the 1500 metres turn was brushed by 1 State Source Star and in turn brushed 10 River Colour. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 River Colour (K H Yu) -At the 1500 metres was brushed by 9 Double Hill Spirit.
