2 Nothing To Say (B Yamzon) -At the 1000 metres had to steady off the heels of 7 Fortune Master which was racing in front and became unbalanced.
3 Power Battery (Apprentice C L Cheung) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 White Debbie (R Maia) -From the 150 metres to the 100 metres was taken in by 8 One From Many.
8 One From Many (O Chavez) -From the 150 to the 100 metres hung in and took 5 White Debbie inwards.
10 Road To Victory (M Wepner) -Was slow to begin.
11 Gem Fighter (H Lam) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race, the Stewards heard an objection lodged by Jockey R Maia the rider of 5 White Debbie, 2nd placed horse against 8 One From Many (O Chavez) being declared the winner for alleging interference from the 150 metres to the 100 metres. Evidence was taken from both riders in the presence of Trainers K S Ho of 5 White Debbie and Trainer C F Chan of 8 One From Many. After reviewing the patrol films and considering the evidence, it was established that from the 150 to the 100 metres 8 One From Many hung in and took 5 White Debbie inwards. The Stewards were of the opinion that the material effect of this incident was less than the margin of the two horses at the finish and therefore overruled the objection. “Correct Weight” was declared on the Judge’s placing.

At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey O Chavez the rider of 8 One From Many was informed that he would be expected to make a quicker effort to straighten his mount in similar circumstances in future.
