Race Report

RACE-4 THE GUANGZHOU RATING 95-70 (CLASS 1&2) 1510 METRES (265)
2 Benevolent Friend (W L Ho) -Was checked off the heels of 6 Oriental Profit which shifted out at the 1100 metres.
3 Grand Double Win (F Henrique) -Was slow into stride and showed no early speed.
4 Falcoshow (L Corrales) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Same Beauty (C F Chan) -Jumped awkwardly and bumped the right side gate. After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that it had cast its right hind plate.
6 Oriental Profit (R Maia) -Shifted out at the 1100 metres and resulting 2 Benevolent Friend being checked.
8 Dutch Interior (W Smith) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
“Correct Weight” was delayed when Jockey W L Ho the rider of 2 Benevolent Friend and Trainer K M Chin, sought permission from the Stewards to review the video at approximately 1100 metres. After viewing the video, they decided not to lodge the objection against 6 Oriental Profit, the winner. And the “Correct Weight” was declared. Jockey R Maia pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that he allowed his mount 6 Oriental Profit to shift out when insufficiently clear of 2 Benevolent Friend resulting in that horse being checked. Jockey R Maia’s license to riding in races was suspended for a period of 1 racemeeting being the meeting of Saturday, 21 July 2018. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
