Race Report

RACE-2 HAINAN DAVID GROUP CHALLENGE RACE RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (275)

1 Heng Feng Star (K H Yu) -Shifted out at the starting resulting in 4 Devonport and 5 Silent Height having to check.
4 Devonport (M Nunes) - Shortly after the start checked. Rider reported that his mount was under pressure all the way and failed to respond in the straight. He added that he felt there was something amiss with the gelding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K H Leong was informed that he would be required to present 4 Devonport to the Veterinary Hospital for thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 29 July 2018.
5 Silent Height (R Maia) - Shortly after the start checked. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Galaxy Giant (F Henrique) - A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was making respiratory noises. Trainer K M Chin was informed that he would be required to present 7 Galaxy Giant to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 29 July 2018.
8 Beautiful Creative (O Chavez) -Was slow to begin.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the reason 4 Devonport (M Nunes) and 5 Silent Height (R Maia) were checked at the start. Jockey K H Yu the rider of 1 Heng Feng Star pleaded guilty to charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that shortly after the start he allowed to his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear resulting in 4 Devonport and 5 Silent Height having to check. Jockey K H Yu’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 racemeeting, and this suspension was deferred and covers the meeting of Friday, 10 August 2018. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
