RACE-3 THE FALESIA RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (282)
1 Mission Gdragon (W L Ho) -At the 200 metres rolled out and bumped 8 Northern Legend.
2 Eclair Sunshine (S Nakano) -At the 700 metres hung out when steadied. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 State Source Star (C F Chan) - At the 700 metres blundered. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality other than it had cast its right front plate.
5 Paradise Gathering (Y M Choi) -At the 1100 metres blundered.
6 Gem Steed (H Lam) -At the 650 metres began to tire and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance of 6 Gem Steed, Trainer K S Wong explained that in his opinion the gelding is better suited on sand than turf. The Stewards also questioned Trainer Wong in relation to the gelding’s race preparation and body weight. He explained that 6 Gem Steed had done most of its preparation at the trotting ring in an endeavor to freshen the horse up and it’s body weight had increased during this time. The Stewards noted his explanation, but warned Trainer K S Wong that he is to present his horses for any race at a level of fitness that is conducive to them being competitive. Trainer Wong was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
7 Lucky Mate (W Smith) -Performed below market expectations. Trainer K H Leong was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
8 Northern Legend (R Maia) -At the 600 metres was bumped by 9 One Belt One Road. At the 200 metres was bumped by 1 Mission Gdragon during which time Jockey R Maia dropped his whip.
9 One Belt One Road (K H Yu) -At the 600 metres rolled in and bumped 8 Northern Legend.
