Race Report

RACE-3 MACAU GOLD CUP (GROUP 1) RATING O 1800 METRES (306)

1 Kelowna Star (W L Ho) - At the start threw its head up. At the 1300 metres threw its head up when taken wider on the track by 6 Sacred Man resulting in 4 Golden Double being carried wider on the track.
2 Lucky Winston (M Wepner) - Shortly after the start was crowded by 7 Denzil's Choice.
3 Wichita Linesman (H Lam) - Was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was found to be lame in the right hind leg. Acting on veterinary advice 3 Wichita Linesman was withdrawn at 5:13pm. Trainer K S Wong was informed 3 Wichita Linesman will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.
4 Golden Double (L Corrales) -At the 1300 metres was taken wider on the track by 1 Kelowna Star. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Y C Fung was informed that he would be required to present 4 Golden Double which was beaten 20 lenghts to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 27 August 2018.
6 Sacred Man (S Nakano) - At the 1300 metres became unbalanced and shifted out carrying 1 Kelowna Star out which then threw its head up.
7 Denzil's Choice (N Callow) - Shortly after the start shifted in crowding to 2 Lucky Winston. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer M C Tam said that he believes that the 1800 metres today racing with no cover was too far for the gelding and it prefers the sand surface. He was informed that he would be required to present 7 Denzil's Choice which was beaten in excess of 29 lenghts to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 27 August 2018
8 Grand Double Win (F Henrique) - Was slow to begin.
9 Royal Garden (W Smith) - Shortly after the start blundered. At the 1300 metre turn rolled in with 6 Sacred Man having to steady, became unbalanced and shifted out. At the 300 metres was bumped by 12 River Treasure. Thereafter raced tight with 12 River Treasure until the 250 metres.
10 Rose Gold Alloy (M Chadwick) -Lay out at the 1400 metres.
11 Ready Fire (B Yamzon) - Was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was found to be lame in the right hind leg. Acting on veterinary advice 11 Ready Fire was withdrawn at 5:12pm. Trainer K H Leong was informed 11 Ready Fire will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.
12 River Treasure (O Chavez) - At the 1500 metre turn lay out. At the 300 metres shifted out and bumped 9 Royal Garden. Thereafter raced tight with 9 Royal Garden until the 250 metres.
