1 Lucky Mate (W Smith) -Suffered crowding at the start.
3 Chromium Alloy (H Lam) -Suffered crowding at the start. At the 1000 metres was steadied when crowded by 12 Tuhao Power.
4 Valiant Soldier (O Chavez) -Suffered crowding at the start and as a result severely blundered and lost ground.
5 Heartgoodallwell (N Callow) -Suffered crowding at the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Evergreen Pegasus (W L Ho) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Moral Integrity (M Chadwick) -Suffered crowding at the start.
8 Anak (K H Yu) -Was slow into stride.
11 Winning Express (R Maia) -Jumped awkwardly and shifted out crowding 1 Lucky Mate, 3 Chromium Alloy, 7 Moral Integrity, 5 Heartgoodallwell, 4 Valiant Soldier and 12 Tuhao Power for room, resulting in 4 Valiant Soldier severely blundering and losing ground. At the 150 metres shifted in when under pressure
12 Tuhao Power (Y M Choi) - Suffered crowding at the start. At the 1000 metres lay in and crowded 3 Chromium Alloy which steadied. When questioned regarding the improved performance of 12 Tuhao Power, Trainer S H Cheong said that the recent heavy tracks had adversely affected the horse’s performance and today racing on a yielding track the gelding was able to reveal its best form.
13 Modena Favorite (B Yamzon) -Rider reported that his mount hung out throughout.
14 Winner Fortune (Apprentice C L Cheung) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
