Race Report

RACE-1 THE HYACINTH RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1350 METRES (49)

1 Tak Fai Of Pins (L Corrales) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer W H Tse was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial in light of its poor performance.
2 Georgian Ease (W Smith) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer P Leyshan was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial in light of its poor performance.
3 Collateral Mission (W L Ho) -Was fractious in the barriers, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Rider was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance of 3 Collateral Mission other than that the gelding traveled well, however it was a beaten horse leaving the 400 metres. The Stewards noted his explanation. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality, other than that the gelding had sustained a minor laceration to its left stifle. Trainers K C Tse/K S Ho were informed that they would be required to present 3 Collateral Mission to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 10 November 2018.
5 Evergreen Pegasus (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Shortly after the start was brushed by 9 Prosperity Star which shifted in whilst being ridden along. Jockey H Lam the rider of 9 Prosperity Star was advised to exercise more care and prevent his mount from shifting in similar circumstances.
7 Porcini (R Maia) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
8 Golden Wealth (K Leung) -Was slow to begin and then had to be eased off the heels of 3 Collateral Mission which shifted in. Rider reported after receiving kick back in the early stages his mount was reluctant to stride out and never traveled comfortably. He further added due to the fast tempo in the early stages the gelding settled further back than anticipated despite his best efforts. He added that when he was able to get 8 Golden Wealth outside of runners leaving the 600 metres, it commenced to travel and when able to get to the outside in the home straight 8 Golden Wealth finished off the race strongly. He concluded by saying that in his opinion that 8 Golden Wealth is better to suited to races over a longer distance. The Stewards noted his explanation.
9 Prosperity Star (H Lam) -Shifted in shortly after the start and brushed 5 Evergreen Pegasus. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
10 One From Many (F Henrique) -Raced wide rounding the first turn.
