RACE-3 THE CHERRY BLOSSOM RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1050 METRES (51)

1 Invincible (W L Ho) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 The Pirate King (L Corrales) -Jumped awkwardly.
5 Turquoise Cry (K H Yu) -A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that the standard stand down period applies and 5 Turquoise Cry will not be permitted to race until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
6 Bobo So Good (R Maia) -A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer M C Tam was informed that the standard stand down period applies and 6 Bobo So Good will not be permitted to race until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
8 Capital Protector (K K Lai) -Was slow to begin.
9 Casino Mok (K Leung) -Near the 900 metres had to be eased when racing in restricted room between 7 Happiness Rose which was taken out slightly by 1 Invincible and 4 Mr Singh which had a tendency to lay in. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards could not portion blame to any one rider and no further action was taken. Raced wide rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Diamond Kid (H Lam) -A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer K S Wong was informed that the standard stand down period applies and 10 Diamond Kid will not be permitted to race until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produced .

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the ride of Jockey K Leung the rider of 9 Casino Mok and of particular concern to the Stewards was his lack of vigour in the home straight. Jockey K Leung pleaded guilty to a charge under MJC Rule 132 (iii) for failing to ride his mount to the satisfaction of the Stewards, in that from the 400 metres to the 75 metres he failed to ride his mount with sufficient determination and vigour. Jockey K Leung’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 4 racemeetings to cover the meetings of 20, 23 & 30 of November and 7 of December 2018. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his disciplinary history and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
