Race Report

RACE-3 THE REINDEER RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1200 METRES (99)

1 Unselfish Trust (K Leung) -Near the 800 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 8 Thar. Near the 500 metres raced up onto the heels of 8 Thar and had to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer K C Chong was informed that the standard stand down period applies and 1 Unselfish Trust will not be permitted to race until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
2 Luen On Dance Kid (O Chavez) -Jumped awkwardly. Rider reported that he had to ride his mount hard in the early stages due to the quick tempo and in his opinion this contributed to the gelding failing to finish its race off as expected. He added 2 Luen On Dance Kid may now be looking for races in a longer distance at this stage of its preparation. The Stewards noted his explanation.
3 Felizmaster (Y M Choi) -Was held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn.
6 Mission Gdragon (H Lam) -Near the 800 metres when the pace of the race steadied, raced fiercely and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 9 Sacred Capital. 10 Magnapegasus which was following also raced fiercely and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 6 Mission Gdragon. Continued to race fiercely for some distance thereafter and raced wide without cover leaving the 700 metres.
8 Thar (L Corrales) -On entering the home straight was disappointed for a run between 7 Emperor King and 5 Lover Paradise. Was then shifted out across the heels of 5 Lover Paradise to obtain clear running.
10 Magnapegasus (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Near the 800 metres raced fiercely and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 6 Mission Gdragon. Near the 200 metres was disappointed for a run between 6 Mission Gdragon and 11 Capital Protector. Near the 150 metres was again disappointed for a run between 6 Mission Gdragon which shifted out slightly away from 2 Luen On Dance Kid and 11 Capital Protector which was taken in marginally by 4 Brilliant Debbie which shifted in slightly. After considering all the circumstances the Stewards took no further action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
