Race Report

RACE-6 THE INVERNESS RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1350 METRES (162)

1 Grexit (L Corrales) -Bumped with 6 Destney near the 1300 metres.
2 Evergreen Pegasus (W Smith) -Bumped with 8 Epinart on jumping away. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Autumn Cloud (M Nunes) -Jumped away awkwardly. A post race swab sample was taken for analysis. Rider reported that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stages of the race and near the 1200 metres he had considered shifting inwards to obtain a position with cover behind 6 Destney however he was instructed not to have his mount racing in the kickback as it is a difficult horse to ride. He added as a result of this he then elected to improve his position wider on the track however 3 Autumn Cloud was unable to muster sufficient speed to cross runners to his inside and the gelding had to work extremely hard until near the 700 metres where he was able to improve to the outside of 4 Beauty Shine. He stated that 3 Autumn Cloud was always off the bit and in the home straight was one paced when placed under pressure and in his opinion was disappointing as the gelding had been working well during track work. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed to present 3 Autumn Cloud to the Veterinary Hospital for thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 23 February 2019.
6 Destney (S Nakano) -Bumped with 1 Grexit near the 1300 metres. Leaving the 1300 metres was eased when momentarily tightened for room by 4 Beauty Shine which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey K K Lai the rider of 4 Beauty Shine was issued with a severe reprimand for and was advised that in future he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of all runners when shifting ground.
7 Go Go Mission (H Lam) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Epinart (B Yamzon) -Bumped with 2 Evergreen Pegasus on jumping away. Approaching the 200 metres was held up momentarily when attempting to obtain clear running between 3 Autumn Cloud and 6 Destney.
