Race Report

RACE-3 THE WOLFSBURG RATING 95-60 (CLASS 1,2&3) 1800 METRES (190)

3 Rose Gold Alloy (W L Ho) - Had to be steadied on jumping away when awkwardly placed on the heels of 8 Magnapegasus which had shifted in on jumping away. Jockey H Lam the rider of 8 Magnapegasus was reprimanded and advised he is to ensure he takes the necessary precautions to prevent his mounts from shifting ground on leaving the barriers. Near the 800 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 9 Benson which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey W Smith the rider of 9 Benson was reprimanded and advised he is to ensure that he is clear when shifting ground at all times. At the 250 metres was hampered.
4 River Control (R Maia) -Raced fiercely in the early stages. Raced wide without cover until near the 800 metres. Near the 250 metres had to be checked.
5 Big Alloy (L Corrales) -Rider reported that the slow tempo of the race in the middle stages contributed to his mount being left flat footed in the home straight. A post race swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality other than it had cast its right fore plate.
7 We Want Cash (S Nakano) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was making some respiratory noises. Trainer P Leyshan was inform that he would be required to present 7 We Want Cash to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 17 March 2019.
8 Magnapegasus (H Lam) -Jumped inwards at the start.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 250 metres whereby by 4 River Control had to be checked and 3 Rose Gold Alloy was hampered. Evidence was taken from the riders of horses 4 River Control (R Maia), 8 Magnapegasus (H Lam) and 3 Rose Gold Alloy (W L Ho). Jockey H Lam pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 250 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of 4 River Control which had to be checked and was taken out onto 3 Rose Gold Alloy which was hampered. Jockey H Lam’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting to cover the meeting of Saturday, 6 April 2019. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey H Lam’s guilty plea, his record, the degree of carelessness and the racing manners of 8 Magnapegasus. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
