Race Report

RACE-1 THE SENDAI RATING 45-0 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (324)

1 Winner Fortune (H Lam) - Raced wide without cover until near the 600 metres. Near the 100 metres Jockey H Lam accidentally had his whip knocked from his grasp by Jockey O Chavez the rider of 3 Moral Integrity. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Cheerful Fish (W L Ho) -Brushed with 5 Trillion Princess on jumping away.
3 Moral Integrity (O Chavez) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Near the 700 metres raced in restricted room for a short distance and was then steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 5 Trillion Princess which shifted in and away slightly from 1 Winner Fortune. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey L Corrales the rider of 5 Trillion Princess with a severe reprimand and advised him that in their opinion he should have made a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting in and should he continue to ride in such a manner more severe action may be taken.
5 Trillion Princess (L Corrales) -Brushed with 2 Cheerful Fish on jumping away.
6 Not A Single Help (C F Chan) -Near the 600 metres was forced wider on the track by 3 Moral Integrity which shifted out around the heels of 5 Trillion Princess to improve.
7 River Sky (F Henrique) -Jumped away awkwardly.
8 Luen On Prestige (S Ladjadj) -Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground before being retired out of the race. Rider reported that his mount stood flat footed at the start and when it did jump, it felt very awkward in its action and as such he elected to retire it from the event. Trainer G Allendorf advised the Stewards that he would have a discussion with the connections in regards to the gelding’s racing future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race the “Enquiry Sign” was semaphored to allow the Stewards to review the patrol videos of the start of the race to ascertain whether 8 Luen On Prestige had been afforded a fair start. It was established that when the start was effected 8 Luen On Prestige stood flat footed of its own accord, was extremely slow to begin as a result lost considerable ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that 8 Luen On Prestige had been given every opportunity of a fair start, it was declared a runner and correct weight was semaphored. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that in view of the barrier manners of 8 Luen On Prestige it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
