Race Report

RACE-2 THE WROCLAW RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1200 METRES (342)
4 Dream Achiever (K Leung) -Over the concluding stages lay out under pressure and had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 5 Lucky Pearl which was laying in before being corrected by his rider.
9 Autumn Passage (C F Chan) -Was marginally slow to begin. Jockey C F Chan the rider of 9 Autumn Passage which finished 9th was severely reprimanded for failing to weigh in after the event. In determining this penalty the Stewards took into account that this was Jockey C F Chan’s first offence.
10 Eclair Boom (S Nakano) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 950 metres had to be checked.
11 Eclair Supreme (K Mizuno) - Was marginally slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 For Community (S Ladjadj) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards enquired into the reason for 10 Eclair Boom being checked near the 950 metres. Evidence was taken from the riders of 10 Eclair Boom (S Nakano), 12 For Community (S Ladjadj) and 7 Wittymaster (R Maia). Jockey R Maia the rider of 7 Wittymaster (R Maia) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 950 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 12 For Community which was taken in onto 10 Eclair Boom which had to be checked. Jockey R Maia’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 raceday covering the racemeeting of Sunday, 11 August 2019. In accessing penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his riding record and today’s heavy track conditions. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
