Race Report

RACE-3 THE ASSOCIATION OF MACAU RACING JOURNALISTS CUP RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (355)

1 Casino Mok (F Henrique) -Bumped by 8 Gem Steed on jumping away. Raced wide without cover throughout.
2 Californiatreasure (O Chavez) -Raced fiercely in the early stages. Raced wide without cover leaving the 600 metres.
3 Kelvin's Choice (S Ladjadj) -Leaving the 100 metres, had to be steadied away from the heels of 10 The Happy Prince which was shifting out under pressure whilst being ridden along. Jockey K Mizuno the rider of 10 The Happy Prince (K Mizuno) was issued with a severe reprimand and advised that in similar circumstances in future, he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Starkiller (H Lam) -Race fiercely in the early stages. Hung out rounding the home turn and on entering the home straight made contact with 9 Mission Vision.
5 Thar (L Corrales) -Was held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight was unable to establish clear running until near the 150 metres.
6 Golden Toruk (W L Ho) -Was bumped shortly after the start by 1 Casino Mok which shifted out after being bumped by 8 Gem Steed which jumped away awkwardly and hung out. Raced fiercely in the early stages. Was held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight was disappointed for a run between 1 Casino Mok and 3 Kelvin's Choice. A short distance later was again disappointed for a run between 3 Kelvin's Choice and 10 The Happy Prince which shifted out. Then had difficulty in obtaining clear running until near the 100 metres where it had to be steadied away from the heels of 1 Casino Mok which shifted out under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
8 Gem Steed (K K Lai) -Jumped away awkwardly, hung out and bumped 1 Casino Mok. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Mission Vision (S Nakano) -On entering the home straight was contacted by 4 Starkiller which was hanging out.
10 The Happy Prince (K Mizuno) -Leaving the 200 metres had a tendency to shift out under pressure.
