Race Report

RACE-1 THE AREIA PRETA RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (377)

1 One Belt One Road (L Corrales) -Bumped by 9 Oh So Easy on jumping away. A short distance later was tightened for room between 9 Oh So Easy and 2 Georgian Ease which shifted out.
2 Georgian Ease (S Ladjadj) -Shortly after the start shifted out and bumped 1 One Belt One Road.
3 Oneofthegreats (O Chavez) -Ressadled behind the barriers.
5 Fortune Generation (R Maia) -Raced wide without cover until leaving the 900 metres.
6 One More Again (J B Hamel) -Raced fiercely with its head up in the early and middle stages. Near the 1300 metres when racing ungenerously had to be steadied away from the heels of 3 Oneofthegreats which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey O Chavez the rider of 3 Oneofthegreats was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift in when not fully clear. In determining not to issue a charge against Jockey O Chavez the Stewards took into account the racing manners of 6 One More Again at the point of the incident and in addition that Jockey J B Hamel was attempting to restrain his mount to allow 3 Oneofthegreats to cross. The Stewards questioned Jockey J B Hamel regarding his riding tactics and in particular the reason he surrendered the lead to 3 Oneofthegreats leaving the 1300 metres which appeared to be in contrast to its most recent racing pattern. Jockey J B Hamel explained that he was instructed to lead and shortly after the start he rode his mount hard with the intentions to lead, however leaving the 1300 metres racing into the first turn 3 Oneofthegreats was showing greater speed to his outside so he elected to ease his mount and allow that runner to cross as he was concerned that if he continued to ride his mount hard it would be inclined to overrace. He added when he attempted to ease his mount to allow 3 Oneofthegreats to cross 6 One More Again got its head up, raced fiercely and proved difficult to settle. The Stewards noted his explanation.
7 Blackjack Mok (F Henrique) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
8 Grand Warrior (W L Ho) -Raced ungenerously in the early stages. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Oh So Easy (K K Lai) -Bumped 1 One Belt One Road on jumping away.
10 Heartgoodallwell (C F Chan) -Shortly after the start was tightened for room between 4 Fortune Dragon and 8 Grand Warrior, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1400 metres had to be steadied momentarily away from the heels of 8 Grand Warrior which shifted in when momentarily racing in restricted room to the inside of 2 Georgian Ease which shifted in marginally before being shifted out. Raced fiercely in the early stages. Held up and unable to improve from the 500 metres until entering the home straight.
11 Wonder Holy (S Nakano) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
