Race Report

RACE-1 "KENMORE LODGE" STAKES RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (13)

1 Victory Achiever (H Lam) -Was slow to begin.
2 Eclair Boom (S Ladjadj) -Blundered shortly after the start. Near the 900 metres when the pace of the race slowed, raced fiercely on the heels of 10 Prosperity Star and had to be steadied. Continued to race fiercely for some distance thereafter.
3 Ping Trace (C F Chan) - Proved difficult to load and delayed the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer C F Chan was informed that 3 Ping Trace will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial in relation to its barrier manners.
5 Game Of Dreams (F Henrique) -Was bumped by 8 Ventures Elite on jumping away. Near the 900 metres when the pace of the race slowed, raced fiercely on the heels of 2 Eclair Boom and near the 800 metres shifted out forcing 7 President King wider on the track. The Stewards questioned Jockey F Henrique regarding his riding leaving the 400 metres in particular the reasons for remaining on the running rail behind 2 Eclair Boom where there appeared to be opportunity to improve wider on the track behind 8 Ventures Elite. He stated that when he had ridden 5 Game Of Dreams previously, the gelding had a tendency to hang out and he had concerns that if he improved wider on the track behind 8 Ventures Elite leaving the 400 metres, 5 Game Of Dreams could hang out and make the home turn extremely wide. He further stated that as a result of this he elected to remain on the running rail following 2 Eclair Boom and was briefly held up rounding the home turn however when he was able to establish clear running on entering the home straight, 5 Game Of Dreams did not respond to his riding and was one paced in the run to finish. After considering all the circumstances, the Stewards noted his explanation.
6 Cookson (D Barros) -Was slow to begin. Leaving the 800 metres had a tendency to hang out and made the home turn wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that 6 Cookson which had been beaten 26 lengths will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
7 President King (Y M Choi) -Near the 800 metres was forced wider on the track by 5 Game Of Dreams which shifted out and was then obliged to race wide without cover for short distance.
8 Ventures Elite (K H Yu) -Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and bumped 5 Game Of Dreams.
11 Full Of Luck (S Nakano) -Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
