Race Report

RACE-4 THE AREIA PRETA RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1050 METRES (22)

1 Association Seven (L Corrales) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
3 Thar (B Yamzon) -Was brushed by 1 Association Seven on jumping away.
6 Destiny's Choice (F Henrique) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Unforgettable (S Ladjadj) -After being placed in the barriers, became fractious and got cast causing a significant delay to the start. Was taken out of the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was found to have sustained multiple lacerations. Acting on veterinary advice, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3:53PM. Trainer M C Tam was informed that 8 Unforgettable will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that is has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
9 Mr Singh (J B Hamel) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 One Belt One Road (H Lam) -Over the concluded stages had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 2 Military Star.
11 River Treasure (K H Yu) -Hung out on jumping away and was then bumped by 9 Mr Singh which was taken in by 2 Military Star which shifted in slightly. Leaving the 700 metres had a tendency to hang out and continued to do so until entering the home straight. Jockey K H Yu was severely reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race. In determining not to issue a more severe penalty the Stewards were satisfied that it did not affect the overall placings of the race.
12 Grand Warrior (V Tolentino) -Was removed from the barriers, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Blundered on jumping away and a short distance later threw its head in the air.
