Race Report

RACE-3 THE ATLANTA RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1500 METRES (214)

1 Bow Noculars (D Barros) -At the 1250 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 2 Oneofthegreats which shifted down to the running rail. Jockey F Henrique the rider of 2 Oneofthegreats was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Tavezbac (W L Ho) -Was slow into stride. Approaching the 500 metres raced up onto the heels of 12 Winnie Star and had to be checked.
5 Big Alloy (M Tanaka) -Raced wide without cover leaving the 600 metres. Rounding the home turn was forced wider on the track by 12 Winnie Star which shifted out to improve. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Luen On Poseidon (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Was slow into stride. Rounding the home turn was held up and unable to improve. Near the 100 metres was momentarily eased away from the heels of 8 Victory Moment.
7 Qian Gua (B Yamzon) -Near the 1250 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room between 10 Still So Cute which when racing fiercely shifted out slightly and 9 Beautiful Eighteen which shifted in. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Jockey C F Chan the rider of 9 Beautiful Eighteen to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Near the 250 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 10 Still So Cute which shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider. Jockey K H Yu the rider of 10 Still So Cute was issued with a severe reprimanded for failing to correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
8 Victory Moment (S Ladjadj) -Raced fiercely in the middle stages.
9 Beautiful Eighteen (C F Chan) -Jumped away awkwardly.
11 Autumn Cloud (Y M Choi) - Raced fiercely in the middle stages. Rounding the home turn was disappointed for a run between 8 Victory Moment and 7 Qian Gua and had to be steadied.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1250 metres where 11 Autumn Cloud was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 11 Autumn Cloud (Y M Choi) and 8 Victory Moment (S Ladjadj). After considering all the evidence and reviewing the footage of the patrol films, the Stewards were of the opinion that near the 1250 metres 8 Victory Moment shifted into a position where 11 Autumn Cloud was racing tight to its inside and a short distance later Jockey Y M Choi checked his mount. As the Stewards could not be fully satisfied on the basis of all the evidence that 8 Victory Moment had taken the rightful running of 11 Autumn Cloud at the point of the incident, the Stewards took no further action other than to issue Jockey S Ladjadj the rider of 8 Victory Moment with a severe reprimand for permitting his mount to race tight to the outside of 11 Autumn Cloud when not necessary and further advised him to ensure he is fully clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
