Race Report

RACE-1 THE NAZARE RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1050 METRES (296)

1 Danny Choice (L Corrales) -Was marginally slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the middle stages. From the 600 metres was inclined to hang out. In the home straight continued to hang out and proved difficult to ride out for the remainder of the race. Trainer K S Wong was informed that a warning had been placed against 1 Danny Choice for its racing manners. Rider reported that after being slow to begin, he had to make use of his mount in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He added that from the 600 metres his mount had a tendency to hang out and when placed under pressure in the home straight continued to hang out and failed to respond to his riding. He further added that after the race he reported to the connections that in his opinion 1 Danny Choice may be better suited with the removal of the blinkers. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed that he would be required to present 1 Danny Choice to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 11 July 2020.
2 Cordyceps King (K H Yu) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Treasure Honey (M Tanaka) -Knuckled on jumping away and shifted out bumping 6 Golden Bullseye.
6 Golden Bullseye (S Ladjadj) -Bumped by 4 Treasure Honey on jumping away. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of 6 Golden Bullseye. Trainer K C Tse stated that 6 Golden Bullseye is a young horse and in his opinion has been improving with racing experience. He added he was disappointed with the gelding’s last start over 1500 metres on the turf track, however added that the previous form of 6 Golden Bullseye suggested that it performs better on the sand track. He further added that the fast tempo in the early and middle stages had a bearing on the gelding’s improved performance tonight. The Stewards noted his explanation.
7 Hostwin Panther (F Henrique) -Leaving the 200 metres was brushed by 6 Golden Bullseye which shifted in under pressure.
