Race Report

RACE-6 THE ROTHERHAM RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1510 METRES (337)

1 Grateful Favors (W L Ho) -Was buffeted on jumping away between 2 Delighted Solution and 6 River God Choi, both of which shifted ground. Passing the winning post on the first occasion was checked. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Delighted Solution (K H Yu) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Epinart (D Barros) - Over the concluding stages was brushed by 8 Pride Sprint which shifted in under pressure whilst being ridden along. Jockey H Lam the rider of 8 Pride Sprint was issued a severe reprimand and was advised that he was to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground.
4 Franklin Lane (F Henrique) -Was inclined to lay in in the early stages.
5 Golden Bullseye (S Ladjadj) -Knuckled shortly after the start. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Honey Biscuit (M Tanaka) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 1300 metres was brushed by 9 Thunder Bear which shifted out slightly. Leaving the 1000 metres shifted in slightly and had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 8 Pride Sprint. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
8 Pride Sprint (H Lam) -Leaving the 100 metres was inclined to shift in under pressure.
9 Thunder Bear (T Appie) -Leaving the 1300 metres shifted out slightly and brushed 7 Honey Biscuit. Near the 1200 metres was inclined to lay in.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident passing the winning post on the first occasion where 1 Grateful Favors was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Grateful Favors (W L Ho) and 4 Franklin Lane (F Henrique). Jockey F Henrique the rider of 4 Franklin Lane pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount 4 Franklin Lane, to shift in when insufficiently clear of 1 Grateful Favors which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey F Henrique’s license to ride in races was suspended for the first three racemeetings of the 2020/2021 Racing Season with the dates to be confirmed in due course. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his riding record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
