Race Report

RACE-6 THE KIANGSI RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1510 METRES (12)
This race was rescheduled to start at 9:40pm.

1 Ares Spear (L Corrales) -Jumped away awkwardly and was then brushed by 2 Chak Chak.
2 Chak Chak (M Tanaka) -Approaching the 700 metres was inclined to lay in and away from 9 Northern Legend and brushed 1 Ares Spear. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Red Phoenix (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly and then made contact with 12 Joyful Bear.
4 Association One (B Yamzon) -Was slow to begin.
5 Bring Me Glory (K H Yu) -Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
7 Numberone Mingxuan (D Barros) -Jumped away awkwardly shifted out and bumped 5 Bring Me Glory. Leaving the 300 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 5 Bring Me Glory which shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider. Jockey K H Yu the rider of 5 Bring Me Glory was issued with a severe reprimand and advised that in future he would be expected to correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
9 Northern Legend (W L Ho) -Approaching the 700 metres was brushed by 2 Chak Chak which was inclined to lay in and away from 1 Ares Spear. Near the 700 metres had to be checked. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12 Joyful Bear (S Ladjadj) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 700 metres where 9 Northern Legend had to be checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Ares Spear (L Corrales), 2 Chak Chak (M Tanaka) and 9 Northern Legend (W L Ho). It was established that leading up to the incident 2 Chak Chak had a tendency to lay in and away from 1 Ares Spear and brushed 9 Northern Legend and a short distance later 9 Northern Legend then had to be checked. After viewing the patrols films and considering all of the evidence, the Stewards could not attribute the blame to anyone rider, therefore no further action was taken other than to advise all riders to exercise more care under similar circumstances in future.
