Race Report

RACE-1 KENMORE LODGE STAKES (DIV 2) RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1200 METRES (43)

1 Cheerful Fish (B Yamzon) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the right foreleg. Trainers K C Tse/K S Ho were informed that 1 Cheerful Fish will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produced.
2 Master Of Mars (W L Ho) -Was resaddled behind the barriers. Raced wide without cover from the 600 metres. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight and had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions.
3 Turquoise Success (L Corrales) -Was marginally slow to begin. Raced fiercely in the early stages and near the 750 metres raced up onto the heels of 1 Cheerful Fish and had to be steadied.
4 Yatholing (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 1100 metres shied in and away from 6 Joyful Commander of its own accord, made contact with the running rail, blundered and became unbalanced losing significant ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K H Leong was informed that in view of the racing manners of 4 Yatholing, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
5 Cushie Butterfield (D Barros) -Fractious in the barriers. Acting on veterinary advice that 5 Cushie Butterfield had sustained multiple lacerations to both hind legs, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2:03pm. Trainer N Moore was informed that 5 Cushie Butterfield will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
7 Fully Realised (H Lam) -Raced fiercely in the middle stages. In the home straight was unable to establish clear running until leaving the 200 metres. Near the 100 metres became awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Turquoise Success which shifted in under pressure and was then obliged to shift out around that runner’s heels. Jockey L Corrales the rider of 3 Turquoise Success was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
