Race Report

RACE-2 THE SACRAMENTO RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1510 METRES (159)

1 Dare To Be (S Nakano) -Near the 1300 metres broke down in the left fore cannon dislodging its rider S Nakano, was subsequently euthanized.
2 Pride Sprint (H Lam) -Near the 1300 metres was severely checked and made contact with the fallen rider, resulting in the gelding falling and dislodging rider H Lam. Trainer C F Chan was informed that he would be required to present 2 Pride Sprint to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 27 February 2021.
5 Honey Biscuit (M Tanaka) -Was marginally slow to begin.
8 Delighted Solution (D Barros) -Was marginally slow to begin. Rider reported he had concerns with his mount’s action in the race. Trainer M C Tam was informed that he would be required to present 8 Delighted Solution to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 27 February 2021.
9 Yatholing (B Yamzon) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 1300 metres had to be checked.
10 Joyful Commander (K H Yu) -Near the 1300 metres had to be checked. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards investigated an incident near the 1300 metres. It was established that near the 1300 metres 1 Dare To Be (S Nakano) broke down in the left fore cannon dislodging its rider S Nakano. 10 Joyful Commander (K H Yu) and 9 Yatholing (B Yamzon) which were following were checked in consequence and 2 Pride Sprint (H Lam) was severely checked and fell when making contact with the fallen rider S Nakano resulting in its rider H Lam being dislodged. Both riders were attended to by the Club’s Medical Officers and were stood down from riding their remaining engagements this evening. Jockey H Lam was reported to be suffering from a sprain to his neck and Jockey S Nakano was transported to hospital for further observation. As a result of the above circumstances, both Jockeys S Nakano and H Lam were exempted from weighing in.
