Race Report

RACE-1 THE SHEK O RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1200 METRES (280)

1 Golden Key (C L Cheung) -Near the 1000 metres was checked. Near the 900 metres shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of 7 Fortune Winner. A short distance later then had to be steadied when tightened for room between 4 Rubick Kingdom and 7 Fortune Winner which shifted out slightly after having its hindquarters contacted. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Smart Arrow (S Nakano) -Near the 1000 metres became unbalanced when it had its hindquarters contacted by 5 Dawson. Was held up on entering the home straight and was unable to establish clear running until near the 250 metres.
4 Rubick Kingdom (F Henrique) -Near the 1000 metres was hampered when taken in by 3 Vibrant City.
5 Dawson (L Corrales) -Near the 1000 metres became unbalanced after having its hindquarters contacted by 9 Heat Of The Battle and in turn shifted in making contact with the hindquarters of 2 Smart Arrow.
6 Sport General (B Yamzon) -Near the 1000 metres was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 2 Smart Arrow. Was held up rounding the home turn and was unable to establish clear running until the 200 metres.
7 Fortune Winner (K H Yu) -Near the 1000 metres was checked. Leaving the 100 metres shifted in under pressure and then had to be steadied away from the heels of 4 Rubick Kingdom which at the same time shifted out under pressure.
9 Heat Of The Battle (W H Lao) -Near the 1000 metres had to be checked when taken in onto the hindquarters of 5 Dawson.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1000 metres. Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 Vibrant City (T Appie), 4 Rubick Kingdom (F Henrique), 1 Golden Key (C L Cheung), 7 Fortune Winner (K H Yu), 9 Heat Of The Battle (W H Lao), 5 Dawson (L Corrales) and 2 Smart Arrow (S Nakano). As Jockey T Appie the rider of 3 Vibrant City had suffered an injury at the barriers prior to Race 6 and was taken to hospital for further observation, the Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date and time to be fixed.
