Race Report

RACE-1 THE PO TOI ISLANDS RATING 70-45 (CLASS 3) 1350 METRES (308)

2 Hostwin Poseidon (J B Hamel) -Shortly after the start was brushed by 7 Stadium. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Rose Hero (K H Yu) -Near the 1200 metres was bumped by 6 Falcoshow which was taken in by 4 Silent Height which shifted in when not fully clear.
5 Military Strongman (L Corrales) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover for the majority. Rider reported that he was caught racing wide rounding the first turn and racing down the back straight, as runners had improved to his inside and as his mount had a tendency to race fiercely he was unable to obtain a position with cover and thereafter raced wide. He added when the pace of the race quickened near the 500 metres his mount was left flat footed, however in the home straight responded to his riding and was able to finish its race off.
6 Falcoshow (F Henrique) -Near the 1200 metres bumped with 3 Rose Hero after being taken in by 4 Silent Height which shifted in when not fully clear. For some distance thereafter was inclined to race fiercely. Near the 250 metres was shifted out across the heels of 5 Military Strongman to obtain clear running.
7 Stadium (M Tanaka) -Shortly after the start was inclined to lay in and away from 3 Rose Hero and brushed with 2 Hostwin Poseidon. Near the 1200 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 3 Rose Hero which shifted in after being bumped by 6 Falcoshow which in turn was taken in by 4 Silent Height which shifted in when not fully clear. After considering all of the circumstances, Jockey Y M Choi the rider of 4 Silent Height was issued with a severe reprimand and was advised he must ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground.
